Norton-Lambert Corp. - iClose-Up Router Service

Norton-Lambert offers its iClose-Up Router Service free of charge during the iClose-Up program evaluation period. After the evaluation period this Service is offered as a Monthly Fee based subscription Service available to registered iClose-Up users.

What is the iClose-Up Router Service: When you install iClose-Up it runs several tests on the Internet to determine if your computer is behind a Router or Firewall that is blocking incoming connections to your iClose-Up computer. If iClose-Up determines that there is a Router or Firewall that has not been configured to work with iClose-Up and is therefore blocking incoming connections, iClose-Up will automatically configure itself to use the iClose-Up Router Service. The iClose-Up Router Service will try to route your incoming connections through the blocking Router or Firewall.

The iClose-Up Router Service is an optional, subscription Service for use with iClose-Up. It is not required to use the iClose-Up program, and you or a computer consultant can configure your Router or Firewall to allow incoming connections to iClose-Up. If the blocking Router or Firewall is located at your ISP then you will have to have your ISP configure their Router or Firewall. You, your consultant, or your ISP, can see the iClose-Up online Help the sections on Routers as well as Firewalls and Ports. Many iClose-Up users sign up for iClose-Up Router Service as a short-term solution. Then in a few weeks they set up their Router or Firewall as outlined in our online Help, and then cancel their iClose-Up Router Service subscription.

How to sign up for the iClose-Up Router Service:
a) Call the Norton-Lambert sales department 805-964-6767 ext 1.
b) Have your iClose-Up Computer ID available (it’s a 9 digit number that is displayed when you double click on the red iClose-Up triangles in the lower right of your screen).
c) Have the credit card you wish to use available (Visa, MasterCard or American Express).
d) Supply us with your phone number as well as your e-mail address.
e) You will be e-mailed your Router Key (a 20 digit number).
f) When you receive your Router Key you can enter it in the iClose-Up Registration screen.

Cost for the iClose-Up Router Service: The monthly subscription fee for the Service is $19.95 USD. Fees will be charged to your credit card in advance of each monthly Service Period.

Fees for the Service are billed monthly from the first of each calendar month until the end of the month (Service Period), except for your first month when it is a fraction of a month. The fraction of a month will be billed on a prorated, daily basis for the duration of the month so that your second month Service Period will start on the first day of the month following the month you start your subscription. (For example, if you call and subscribe on the 15th of March you would be charged $10.30 for the first fractional month. Since March has 31 days you would divide $19.95 by 31 which is .6435 a day. Now take the 31 days and subtract 15 days, which equals 16 days. Finally you multiply .6435 a day times 16 days and you have $10.30 for the month of March).

If you subscribe to the iClose-Up Router Service within 10 days of the end of a month then you will be charged on a prorated basis for the fraction of the month as well as the following month. (For example, if you call and subscribe on the 25th of March you would be charged $23.81. That’s $3.86 for the remaining 6 days of March plus $19.95 for April).

High Bandwidth iClose-Up Router Service Use: Norton-Lambert reserves the right to terminate the service or, upon notice to the user, increase the subscription fee to any user determined by Norton-Lambert in its sole discretion to be using excessive bandwidth.

Ending the iClose-Up Router Service: Your subscription to the iClose-Up Router Service will continue and renew automatically each month for each succeeding Service Period unless terminated by Norton-Lambert or until you notify Norton-Lambert of your decision to cancel your subscription at least 10 days prior to the end of the month. To cancel, you must notify Norton-Lambert by any means providing for a senders receipt, with a confirming phone call.

Refunds: You will not receive a refund for any fees, which you have paid in advance in the event that you or Norton-Lambert terminates your iClose-Up Router Service. You shall remain liable for all fees incurred or accrued to the date of termination of the Router Service.

iClose-Up Router Service Agreement: You agreed to the iClose-Up Router Service Agreement when you installed iClose-Up.
